Newcastle United's intriguing Premier League record since Graeme Jones arrived - and the club's surprise position in the table

There is no questioning that assistant coach Graeme Jones played a pivotal role as Newcastle United retained their Premier League status.

The former Belgium coach was drafted in by Steve Bruce in January following the club’s rapid decline in results and made an instant impression with his first game in the dugout ending in a 2-0 win at Everton.

Via a change in formation and becoming most innovative from set pieces, supporters were quick to laud Jones’ work behind the scenes, as did England manager Gareth Southgate, who added the 51-year-old to his backroom staff for the Euro 2020 campaign.
