Newcastle United take on Brentford this afternoon in the Championship.

A crowd of more than 51,000 will watch the fixture at St James's Park (3pm kick-off).

Newcastle are third in the division after 11 games, while Brentford are seventh.

It is the first time the two clubs have met in the division since 1993, when the London club were beaten 5-1 at St James's Park.

Writing in the match programme, United manager Rafa Benitez said: "With 52,000 behind us, our support at home must be the best in the league.
