Newcastle produced a much-improved performance to hold champions Chelsea to a 2-2 draw on Saturday. Miles Starforth gives his player ratings for the game.

Daryl Janmaat: Strong at both ends of the pitch 7

Chancel Mbemba: Solid and committed performance 7

Fabricio Coloccini: Looked more like his old commanding sel 7

Kevin Mbabu: Very impressed debut out of position at left-back against Pedro 7

Jack Colback: Played well until he was forced off with an injury 7

Vurnon Anita: Protected United’s back four and used the ball well 7

Moussa Sissoko: Not as influential as in his previous home appearances against Chelsea 6
