NEWCASTLE United are close to signing TWO Spanish players in this month’s transfer window.
The club is in advanced talks over a move for Racing Santander forward David Concha.
Concha, 18, has already visited St James’s Park and Newcastle’s training ground.
And officials are understood to be working on a second deal for Sporting Gijon’s 17-year-old defender Jorge Mere.
Should the deals go through, the pair will be loaned back to their clubs for the rest of the season.
United are delving deeper into the Spanish market, having previously recruited heavily from France and Holland.
The club signed forward Ayoze Perez from Tenerife last summer.
And the 21-year-old – who showed Concha round Newcastle’s training ground last month – has been a revelation so far this season.
