Three Newcastle United youngsters have been called up for England at under-19 and under-20 level.
Goalkeeper Freddie Woodman and forward Adam Armstrong are part of a 20-man Young Lions squad for fixtures against Germany, in Begisch Gladbach (Friday, September 4), and Croatia, in Zagreb (Monday, September 7).
Woodman, currently on loan to League Two Crawley Town, was in the national under-19 party last season
It is a first call-up for Armstrong, who has scored five goals in his first three appearances on loan at League One Coventry City.
Meanwhile, Alex Gilliead has been named in England’s under-20 squad for a fixture against Czech Republic on Monday, 7th September.
The game will be played at Shrewsbury Town’s Greenhous Meadow.
The forward has previously played for the Young Lions at under-16, under-17 and under-18 level.
