JOHN Carver says there are “no hard feelings” between him and Jonas Gutierrez over the winger’s axe.
Gutierrez was left out of Newcastle’s squad for last weekend’s home game against Tottenham Hotspur after an incident on the training pitch in the build-up to the game.
The winger, however, spoke with head coach Carver on Monday in his office.
And Gutierrez, as reported in today’s Gazette, will be in the squad for Saturday’s crucial Premier League home game against Swansea City.
Carver would not discuss what happened on the training field, but he says the pair have “moved on” ahead of a hugely-important game for the relegation-threatened club.
“There was a situation on the training ground, which happens at every club,” said Carver.
“We’ve got together, had a conversation, shaken hands like two grown men and we’re moving on without going into too much detail because I think what happens on the training ground or dressing room stays there.
“He trained with us on Monday. We had a conversation – it was a private conversation – and there are no hard feelings.
“We’ve shaken hands and are moving on.”
Asked if Gutierrez would involved against Swansea, Carver added: “He’s in the squad, absolutely.”
