'Played off the park by 19th West Brom' - Calls for Newcastle United to sack Steve Bruce intensify

Newcastle United played out a draw with West Brom this afternoon.

West Bromwich Albion's English defender Darnell Furlong (up) vies with Newcastle United's Welsh defender Paul Dummett during the English Premier League football match between West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United at The Hawthorns stadium in West Bromwich, central England, on March 7, 2021.

The result sees Steve Bruce’s Magpies on 27 points from 27 games and sitting in 16th, four points away from Fulham in the relegation spaces.

Sam Allardyce’s Baggies remain 19th and in the dropzone with just 18 points from their 28 fixtures so far this Premier League campaign.

However, it was a poor game at the Hawthorns, one which hasn't exactly provided hope that Newcastle United can improve in the coming weeks, with the North East club still flirting with relegation.

@NUFC360: “#BruceOut Absolute disgrace.”

@SellersTonys: “Waste of time watching, I haven't in weeks. Maybe its best we go down, to get rid of Bruce, Ashley and half that squad.”

@Luke_NUFC: “We've just been played off the park by 19th West Brom, who played a game only on Thursday… No desire to do anything in this game, should be ashamed.”

@ChappsRyan2000: “Gone to West Brom to fight for a draw.”

@Ben98whiteley: “Abysmal game of football, can’t see where any goals come in this team. Steve Bruce at the helm, we’re sleep walking straight into another relegation. Bringing Carroll on with 40 seconds left sums up this match.”

@bobblestea: “One of the most painfully boring games I’ve ever seen. Thank you for making me waste 90 minutes of my Sunday.”

@agbnufc_: “0-0 just ain't good enough really is it. We're drawing our winnable fixtures, which are running out. Sack Bruce before he gets a chance to trigger me calling this a good result.”
