Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic wants Fulham to sign Mitrovic – who has scored 12 goals so far for the club – on a permanent deal in the summer.

However, Benitez doesn't expect to hear from the club until next month.

Asked if Fulham had been in touch ahead of the summer transfer window, manager Benitez said: "No, we're not talking about anything yet with anyone.

"They players on loan know that they will have holidays, or if they have to continue playing they will continue playing, and after, I'm sure, someone will talk about this player or another.

"I've said before it's a win-win situation (with Mitrovic at Fulham)."
