The winger, signed as a free agent in the summer following the expiry of his Bournemouth contract, is back in full training ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup tie against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Fraser – who didn’t play a game for six months after choosing to sit out the Premier League’s summer restarthad suffered a groin injury in the December 22 Carabao Cup defeat to Brentford. The 26-year-old had only just returned from the hamstring injury which sidelined him in November.

Speaking late last month, head coach Bruce said: “We have had an ongoing cycle with Ryan, either with his hamstring or his groin. We all know he hadn’t played since March (when he signed), so he had a few problems muscle-wise.”

Meanwhile, United captain Jamaal Lascelles is also back in training ahead of the Arsenal game after recovering from Covid-19.
