Sam Allardyce has admitted he could consider signing Kevin Nolan – but says he will wait and assess the Sunderland squad first.
Nolan has been linked with joining up again with Allardyce, after the pair enjoyed spells together at Bolton and West Ham.
The midfielder is a free agent, having followed Allardyce out of the door at Upton Park in the summer.
Allardyce said: “Me and Kevin go a way back. I may chose to enter down that line.”
Allardyce was speaking as he was unveiled as Sunderland manager to the media today.
