Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder used his pre-match press conference to praise Bruce’s Newcastle, and he picked out midfielder Jonjo Shelvey as a dangerman for the visitors.

Shelvey scored a fantastic long-range effort against Manchester City to rescue a point, and Wilder was full of praise for the ‘outstanding footballer’.

Wilder said: “They [Newcastle] play to their strengths; pace down the wides and the middle, an outstanding footballer in Jonjo Shelvey in the middle of the park and set up in a way that suits them.

“They can go level with us with three points. It’ll be a tight game – results got have been earned, not given and deserved.”

The game will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime, which will be the first time either side will have featured in front of their cameras.

Newcastle United are gunning for a third Premier League away win of the season, with both of their previous wins coming in London against West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.
