Spain have appointed a new national team manager – days after Rafa Benitez was linked with the job.
Luis Enrique has replaced Fernando Hierro, who stepped down as interim coach over the weekend.
The 48-year-old has been out of work since leaving Barcelona last summer.
Benitez, meanwhile, was linked with the vacant post over the weekend.
Newcastle United's manager was reportedly on the shortlist drawn up by Spain's football federation.
Hierro had been placed in temporary charge on the eve of the World Cup after Julen Lopetegui was sacked,
Lopetegui was dismissed it was announced that he would take over at Real Madrid after the tournament.
