Steve Bruce keen for Newcastle United to sign Premier League 'class act'

Steve Bruce has described Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose as a “class act” – and admitted Newcastle United’s interest in the defender.

Bruce is looking to sign a left-back on loan after losing Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett to season-ending injuries last week.

And Newcastle – who are set to sign Inter Milan winger Valentino Lazaro on a season-long loan – have been linked with Rose, who has rowed with Jose Mourinho his manager.

Speaking ahead of Newcastle’s FA Cup tie against Oxford United at St James's Park tomorrow, head coach Bruce said: “It would be wrong for me to sit and talk about other people’s players. He (Rose) is a quality player and a class act, the kid. Whether it’s possible, who knows.”
