Gayle, sidelined since the middle of last month, has trained all week ahead of tomorrow’s game at Selhurst Park.

And the striker, signed from Palace in 2016, could be handed a start against his former club, as Joelinton is doubtful.

“Dwight has trained all week – he puts himself in contention,” said head coach Steve Bruce.

“We’ve got a slight doubt about Joelinton. He’s got a sore thigh.”
