Steve McClaren said training at Newcastle United has been “feisty” this week – after a heated inquest into the Leicester City defeat.
The club’s head coach held a team meeting on Monday to discuss what went wrong last weekend.
And McClaren has been pleased with the reaction on the training field ahead of tomorrow’s game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
“It has been a normal week after what was a very disappointing result and performance,” said McClaren.
“It was a bad weekend, but I would say we’ve had a great week on the training field.
“It has been feisty, competitive, intense and energeteic.
“I hope we take that preparation into the game.”
Asked what was said to the players, McClaren added: “I got the message across.”
