Steve McClaren is still in charge at Newcastle United – despite the clamour for his dismissal.
The club's embattled head coach took training this morning – 24 hours after board-level talks over his future.
Fans changed for McClaren to be sacked during Saturday's 3-1 home defeat to Bournemouth.
But relegation-threatened Newcastle, understood to be assessing potential replacements, are not expected to dismiss him today.
And McClaren – whose side are second-bottom of the Premier League and a point adrift of safety – will be back at the training ground tomorrow unless there are any dramatic developments.
For his part, McClaren is adamant that he will not quit the post.
United are not back in action until Monday night, when they take on league leaders Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
