Steve McClaren says no player is "undroppable" at Newcastle United.

McClaren's relegation-threatened team take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium tonight.

And the club's head coach has been mulling over changes in personnel since last month's 5-1 defeat to Chelsea.

A number of big-name players, including Fabricio Coloccini, Moussa Sissoko and Georginio Wijnaldum, have struggled for form away from home this season.

And McClaren, without the injured Coloccini at Stoke, has more options in midfield and attack, though winger Townsend is not expected to feature.

He said: “Nobody is undroppable. We have six (players) back in now, and that’s good competition for places, apart from if you’re a defender. It’s better."
