Steve McClaren has given his reaction to the dismissal of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho was axed yesterday after a dismal run of domestic results which have left the club a point below 15th-placed Newcastle United in the table.
McClaren is now the second-favourite, behind Manchester United's Louis van Gaal, in the Premier League's sack race.
Newcastle head coach McClaren said: "The job is getting tougher with the expectations.
"It's keeping a balance. If you don't win games, you suffer. He will bounce back. He is too big a manager not to."
Guus Hiddink is set to be appointed as Mourinho's interim successor at Stamford Bridge.
