Newcastle United are not lining up Clarence Seedorf as a replacement for Steve McClaren.
Reports in Italy have claimed that Seedorf has held “secret” talks with the club just five months after McClaren’s appointment.
McClaren, however, is understood to be safe in his position, despite Newcastle’s poor Premier League form.
And the club’s head coach will be given time to turn the team’s fortunes around.
Newcatle are 17th in the division ahead of Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Seedorf had a brief spell in charge of AC Milan, the club he served for most of his playing career, last year.
