Mark Hughes will recall Bojan Krkic for Stoke City's visit to St James's Park.

The forward was rested for Tuesday night's Capital One Cup tie against Chelsea.

And Stoke manager Hughes will include Bojan – who missed the second half of last season with a serious knee injury –in his squad for Saturday's game against Newcastle United.

"He will be available," said Hughes. "The thinking behind that was that if he played against Chelsea, and at the weekend, he was looking at four games in 12 days and that's too much coming back from a serious injury."

Hughes also hopes to have Glen Johnson back from injury.

However, Johnson's defensive colleagues Geoff Cameron (thigh) and Marc Muniesa (hamstring) will be unavailable.
