As ever, plenty was on the agenda at the 58-year-old’s media briefing, speaking in-depth about the Magpies front three, his time in the job so far and assessing the once daunting trip to Old Trafford. Scroll down and click through our gallery to see what Bruce had to say with the Premier League returning over the festive period:
1. What are Newcastle's Christmas Day plans?

2. Miguel Almiron is up-and-running...
"I was just delighted for the lad and I think everyone who supports Newcastle would say the same. Every time he gets it around the box he’s dangerous, I think it’s 47 per cent (of his shots) on target. It’s great for him. He’s a great pro and a great lad. He lights up the place every day with the way he works. Let’s hope it’s the start of a few now." Photo: Ian MacNicol
3. The front three are up-and-running - according to Bruce
“Big Jo has got it (his first goal), Allan has got it and now Almiron. They’re up and running. It’s taken them a while, but when you’re buying from abroad they always need time. Very few hit the ground running. That patience pays off eventually." Photo: Alex Livesey
4. But will Joelinton kick on further?
“He’s come with all the big signing stuff and the number nine shirt. At the minute, he’s a little bit short of confidence but he has to stay with it. We know there’s a good player in there. I’m convinced he’ll be okay." Photo: Alex Livesey
