Mark Noble will be available for West Ham’s first fixture after the international break against Newcastle – after the red card he received against Liverpool was rescinded.
The Hammers captain – who scored the second goal of his side’s 3-0 Premier League victory at Anfield – was sent off in the 78th minute when referee Kevin Friend judged him to have fouled Danny Ings.
Noble insisted afterwards that his challenge was not even worthy of a yellow card, and manager Slaven Bilic was equally critical, revealing his optimism that they would succeed with an appeal.
“Great news,” tweeted West Ham co-owner David Gold.
“Mark Noble’s red card has been rescinded and he will be available to play against Newcastle.”
