This is why Allan Saint-Maximin may miss Newcastle United's game against Manchester City

Newcastle United, held to a 2-2 home draw by Aston Villa at St James's Park this afternoon, take on Pep Guardiola’s side on at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

And winger Allan Saint-Maximin, outstanding this season following his move from Nice last summer, could be rested after starting five games in 15 days.

“I don’t think, unfortunately, I could ask him to go again on Wednesday, that’s for sure,” said head coach Bruce. “It’s difficult, not just for Allan. We’ll see where we are. A fifth game in fifteen games in the Premier League is a tough ask. Not just Allan, we’ll see how all of them are in the next 24 or 48 hours.”

Meanwhile, Bruce fears that midfielders Isaac Hayden and Sean Longstaff could miss the club’s remaining games with hamstring problems.
