Rolando Aarons might not play for Newcastle United again this season, according to a report.
The winger has not featured for the relegation-threatened club since Rafa Benitez was appointed manager last month.
And The Mirror claim that Benitez has told his squad that he has a preference for experienced players between now and the end of the season.
Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez were left out of his starting XI for last weekend's game against Norwich City.
Benitez – who recalled experienced quartet Papiss Cisse, Cheick Tiote, Papiss Cisse and Vurnon Anita to the starting XI – sent on Perez and Mitrovic in the second half at Carrow Road.
And Mitrovic, 21, scored twice while 22-year-old Perez helped liven up his side, who had been poor before the break.
The Mirror also report that 20-year-old Aarons, while in Benitez's longer-term plans, has been told he will not play "for now".
