Yoan Gouffran is wanted by French club Lille in this month's transfer window.
The forward – who has made just one Premier League start this season – is on the fringes at Newcastle United.
And Lille manager Frederic Antonetti has revealed that Gouffran, signed from Bordeaux three years ago, is one of a number of players who is of "interest" to the club.
Gouffran spoke about his future last month.
Asked about speculation linking him with a move away from St James's Park, the 29-year-old said: “I’m here. I work hard.
“If I don’t play, maybe I’m going to leave in January. I don’t know.
“I need to be ready and to stay fit. I don’t know what’s happening after.”
