Ex-Newcastle striker quits Roofing

ON HIS WAY ... Paul Robinson.
ON HIS WAY ... Paul Robinson.

JARROW Roofing have been hit by the news that top scorer Paul Robinson has quit the club.

The former Newcastle United striker made a great start to the season with his new club, bagging a hat-trick on his debut and nine goals in his first seven games.

But Robinson this week signed for Southern league side Chesham United, who he had a spell with last season.

It is a blow for boss Richie McLoughlin, who is also without defender David Anderson for tomorrow’s Northern League Division One game at home to Guisborough Town.

McLoughlin said: “I don’t know how much of a problem it is until I see how we react, but it’s not a problem yet.”

Roofing can call upon the services of Karl McMann, Ian Davidson and Ian Moore, however, after they missed the midweek defeat at the hands of Dunston.
