SOUTH Tyneside non-league sides Hebburn Town and Jarrow Roofing today received tough draws in the last eight of the Durham Challenge Cup.

Roofing, who progressed after an astonishing 6-5 win over fellow Northern League side Norton & Stockton Ancients on Tuesday night, have Gateshead away.

The Tynesiders beat Consett 2-0 last night at the International Stadium to secure their progress, with one of their goals coming from Jarrow-born former Newcastle United reserve Carl Finnigan.

Hebburn, who beat fellow 2nd Division side Willington 3-1, have a home tie against the winners of tomorrow’s match between Wearside League side Easington and Northern League leaders West Auckland.

The other quarter-finals will see Wearside League side Hartlepool FC or Billingham Synthonia host Shildon, while Washington visit Evo-Stik League Spennymoor Town.

The games are due to be played on or before Saturday, February 7.
