The club's director of football Stephen Rutherford said: "We've been working in the background for a couple of months on this deal with local businessman David Winton, the CEO of The Energy Check, and our allocated commercial partnership manager from the company Andrew Brewer to ensure we secured the best partnership outcome for both the football club and The Energy Check.

"It's great to see local businesses support our club's vision and objectives we have set out in our five-year plan. I firmly believe this is just the start of a excellent future with The Energy Check but also an opportunity for other potential commercial partners to come forward and listen to our project and plans and get involved.

"Here at Hebburn Town it's not just about focusing all our energy on our senior football team doing well but ensuring our full club from our Junior section right through to our Over-50s Walking Football section are part of what we want to achieve, we are creating a real community hub here at The Energy Check Sports Ground where we can develop and nurture football talent for all.

Mr Winton added: “Hebburn is my hometown club and my two kids are part of the fantastic Hebburn Town Juniors set-up so I’m delighted to be supporting the club.
