South Shields have been drawn at home against neighbours North Shields in a League Cup tie.

The date for the derby has yet to be finalised but is likely to attract a huge crowd.

The Mariners have attracted crowds in excess of 1,000 three times already this season, having won their last 18 consecutive games. Their last home game, against Tow Law, was watched by more than 1,400 fans.

North Shields, meanwhile, are FA Vase holders, and have an average home attendance this season of almost 500.

The game could, therefore, be made all-ticket.

The full draw is: Marske United v Penrith, Morpeth v Easington or Seaham Red Star, Whitley Bay v Dunston UTS, Guisborough Town v Ashington, Brandon United v Bedlington Terriers or West Auckland, South Shields v North Shields, Thornaby v Esh Winning, Durham City v Shildon.
