JOHN Campbell’s move to Oxford United could be back on after the League Two side and non-league outfit Jarrow Roofing reopened talks.
Campbell’s full-time switch to The U’s looked in doubt after Oxford tried to renegotiate the terms of the transfer last month.
The striker had initially joined Oxford on loan until the January transfer window opeend, with an agreement in place for the permanent switch.
But with the transfer window closing without a deal being finalised after Oxford, it appeared as if the 26-year-old would return to Roofing, where he is under contract for another 18 months.
However, talks reopened over the weekend between Roofing and Oxford, and the Gazette understands that Campbell willstay with the pro side until the end of the campaign, where Oxford will then make a decision on whether to sign him.
Campbell, who had returned to Tyneside, is now set to travel back to Oxford in the morning.
