HEBBURN Town manager Scott Oliver is confident his side can handle the promotion pressure.
Hebburn travel to Darlington RA tomorrow for a Northern League Division Two fixture which is the start of a tough run-in.
The Hornets have won their last eight league games to propel themselves on to the fringes of the promotion race.
And with Washington and Norton & Stockton Ancients both dropping points in recent weeks, Oliver is confident his side can get one of the top three spots.
However, he insists there is no pressure on his team to go up as their budget is in place for next season regardless of what division they are in.
“We are not under pressure,” said Oliver. “Unlike others, we will have the same players next season regardless of what league we are in.
“It’s a tough run in but we are on course for promotion.
“Teams are dropping points and we must remain focused.
“We have lost six times this season and play four of them teams in the run in – Darlington RA, Thornaby, Washington and Ryhope.”
Hebburn sit fifth in the table, five points behind third-placed Washington with three games in hand.
