RICHIE McLoughlin says in-form Jarrow Roofing are expecting a “battle” tomorrow after their “best performance of the season” last time out.

Roofing dismantled Durham City last Saturday in Northern League Division One, coming away with a 3-0 win.

Tomorrow, the fourth-placed side host fifth-placed Dunston UTS at the Boldon CA Sports Ground, and McLoughlin is confident that, if they show the same attitude, the Roofers can continue their fine form.

Roofing supremo McLoughlin said: “It’s a big game, and we must show the same commitment and quality as we have displayed in recent weeks.

“That was never in evidence as much as it was at Durham City last Saturday. The lads were simply superb, and I thought it was the best we had played all season.

“We were brilliantly led by a man of the match performance from Dan Kirkup, and the rest of the lads followed his example.”

McLoughlin insists the Roofers are not about to get complacent, though, and is expecting a difficult game against Dunston.

He added: “This is a very tough game for us. Dunston don’t concede many goals, are very organised at the back and quick going forward. It’s going to be a battle and we need to be at our best if we want to record another win.

“There will be some tough squad decisions to make as we will have a full set of lads to choose from.

“Whatever starting 11 I choose, though, I’m confident we can do the business and keep collecting the points in our challenge to gather as many as possible.”

Roofing have a full squad to pick from for tomorrow’s game, with Shaun Vipond back from suspension, and Danny Carson, Kyran Whitehead and Alan Greenan all returning to the squad.

Kick-off is at 3pm.
