SOUTH Shields are halfway towards reaching their target of winning their final four games of the season – and manager Jon King has warned his players not to let up now.
Shields host Ryton and Crawcrook Albion at Peterlee tomorrow on the back of victories against Esh Winning and Birtley Town.
They will conclude their season at home against Stokesley next Friday, but first they face a Ryton side which sits a creditable 12th in Northern League Division Two.
King said: “We had a good result last week against Birtley, so we’re halfway towards our target of winning the final four games of the season.
“It’s going to be a tough game tomorrow, though, and we’ll have to be on top of our game.
“Ryton have had a good season, and their coach has got them playing some good stuff.
“I’m looking forward to both of the final two games, and hopefully we can finish with another couple of wins to make it a great way to end the season.”
Shields are hoping to have a full-strength squad for the 3pm kick-off at Eden Lane, with Paul Kane, Michael Turner, Baptiste Fixot and Gary Crutwell expected to return to contention.
