South Shields have sealed another signing after West Auckland defender Lewis Galpin agreed to move to Mariners Park.
The 21-year-old, who started his career at Gateshead and made a number of appearances in the Conference, also won the FA Vase at Wembley during his time at West Auckland.

At Shields, he will get the chance to rekindle his defensive partnership with Daryll Hall, who he played alongside for the Northern League Division One club.
Galpin, who was born in South Shields and now lives in Hebburn, said: “I’m very pleased to have joined South Shields.
“I’m a local lad. I was born in South Shields and have lived my entire life in Hebburn, so it’s nice, and makes it extra-special when you’re playing for your hometown club.
“Daryll was good to play alongside at West Auckland. We get on well and work well together, and hopefully we can do what we did at West Auckland here.
“Everyone at the club is aiming for promotion next season, and I’m glad to be coming to a club that wants to push on.”

“He’s one of the best local players around, has great pedigree and ticks all of the boxes for us.”
