South Shields have sealed another signing after Lewis Teasdale swapped one South Tyneside club for another by joining from Jarrow Roofing.
The forward, 25, had started the season in fine form in Northern League Division One, notching six goals, including four in a victory over Newton Aycliffe last month.
He has now opted to leave Roofing for Shields, and is in contention to make his debut in tomorrow’s FA Vase tie against Washington at Mariners Park.
It is a move Teasdale is very excited about.
He said: “I spoke to (manager) Jon King and listened to what he had to say.
“From what he said and what I’ve heard from other people, I thought it would be a good move, so I’m delighted to be here and I can’t wait to get started on Saturday.
“I joined because of the ambition, really. The club wants to move forward fast, so it’s something I want to be a part of.
“I’ve seen what’s been going on and we’ve got a good side, so hopefully we can push on and aim to win the league.
“There have been big crowds coming to watch the club as well, so it will be nice to play in front of a lot of people.”
As well as Roofing, Teasdale has played for the likes of Tow Law Town, Consett and Dunston UTS.
