This is what Chris Wilder said about Newcastle United fans

Sheffield United, managed by Wilder, were beaten 2-0 by Steve Bruce’s side last night.

Newcastle’s controversial second goal, scored by Jonjo Shelvey, stood after referee Stuart Attwell consulted VAR – and home fans were incensed.

“I think if that was turned on its head, at St James' Park, it would have been the same reaction,” said Wilder. “I think Sheffield United fans are mad, but Geordies, they're absolutely off their nut, them."Passionate, aren't they? Really passionate. You've seen them when they've gone 2-0 up. Brilliant. Supporting the team, supporting Steve, so I'm not taking anything away from Steve's performance.

"It's a big three points for them, but it's a different game and we're learning a different game. I'm a bit drained with it, and a bit saddened as well the way it's going."
