MOUSSA Sissoko’s opened the door to a move to Arsenal – by revealing his “love” for the club.
The Newcastle United midfielder has talked about his ambition to play Champions League football in an interview with a French newspaper.
European football, however, remains a distant prospect at United.
But Sissoko also insisted he remained “happy”, for the moment, at St James’s Park.
“Arsenal were my favourite club when I was young, and my idol was Patrick Vieira,” Sissoko told L’Equipe. “I have always loved this club and I still love them.
“There were a lot of rumours (about an Arsenal move), but I do not pay too much attention.
“I have an agent that takes care of that. If something should happen, it will happen.
“I have ambition. My goal is to play at the best clubs, playing the Champions League, win trophies, but today I am a Magpie and I am very happy.”
France international Sissoko has been one of Newcastle’s most influential players so far this season.
