Sunderland insiders have dismissed reports that David Moyes is to be sacked.
A story in the national media today suggested that the manager, who has only been in place just over three months, faces the axe if the Black Cats fail to win at Bournemouth on Saturday.
It was reported that Sunderland owner Ellis Short is running out of patience after the side equalled the worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign when they lost 4-1 at home to Arsenal at the weekend.
Sunderland have only two points from 10 games (draws with Southampton and West Brom), a tally which equals Manchester City's total from 1995.
But the Gazette understands there is no foundation in the story, and that Moyes is in no imminent danger.
