Lynch will be competing with Alim Ozturk, Tommy Smith and Tom Flanagan for a place in the side upon his return.

Sunderland, meanwhile, have no fresh injury concerns following their 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

Elliot Embleton remains a long-term absentee, but the remainder of Parkinson’s squad will be available for selection against Joey Barton’s Fleetwood.
