SUNDERLAND reporter Chris Young gives his verdict after the Black Cats registered a 12th Premier League draw of the campaign, at Swansea.
Pantilimon 7 - Excellent saves to deny Gomis in the first half and Oliveira at the death.
Reveillere 6 - Lost Ki for the equaliser, although got forward well during the first half.
Vergini 7 - Looking much happier with life back in central defence and was solid alongside O’Shea.
O’Shea 8 - Made several timely blocks and produced an excellent last-gasp tackle to deny Taylor.
van Aanholt 6 - Too many crosses came in from the right-hand side throughout and Sunderland eventually paid the price.
Bridcutt 6 - Did a lot of the dirty work, although produced a couple of sloppy passes as well.
Gomez 6 - Ball retention was poor during the second half when Sunderland needed to be sharper to relieve the pressure.
Larsson 6 - Excellent defensively, but like Gomez, too many stray passes in the second half.
Alvarez 7 - Full of confidence after his goal at Fulham and worried Swansea, particularly in the opening 45 minutes. (Johnson 6 - Marked tightly by Naughton and couldn’t change the flow of the second half.)
DEFOE 8 - Sunderland had one shot on target and scored from it, with a classic Defoe goal. What a difference he has already made.
Graham 7 - Held the ball up well and worked hard. Almost grabbed his first Sunderland goal, only to be denied by a brilliant tackle from Williams. (Fletcher 5 - Unable to offer any attacking threat in the closing stages).
SWANSEA: Fabianski 6, Naughton 7, Fernandez 7, Williams 7, Taylor 7 (Rangel 6), Cork 6, Ki 8, Dyer 8, Shelvey 8 (Oliveira 6), Barrow 5 (Montero 6), Gomis 6
