One player who falls into the latter category is Joel Asoro, with the striker looking set for a move to the Championship.
As reported by sister title the Sunderland Echo, Sunderland have accepted a bid in the region of £2m from Swansea for the frontman - who has indicated his desire to play at a higher level.
Elsewhere, Wahbi Khazri looks to be returning to France with Saint-Etienne.

After a productive loan spell with Rennes last season, the attacker is now ready to join their Ligue 1 rivals after they agreed a suitable fee with Sunderland.
It is understood that Khazri is undergoing at medical with Les Verts ahead of confirming the move.
Callum McManaman has also been linked with the exit door, with a return to former club Wigan Athletic on the cards.

Reports from Turkey suggest that Trabzonspor are interested in the duo but would prefer them to cancel their contracts with Sunderland in order to simplify a move.
