David Moyes has made one change to his Sunderland team for the visit of Leicester City, with Papy Djilobodji recalled to the starting line-up.

The Senegal defender missed the Liverpool game through suspension but is back in the side in place of skipper John O'Shea, who drops down to the bench.

Jermain Defoe captains the Sunderland team this afternoon.

Jan Kirchhoff returns to the squad for the first time since injuring his hamstring in the home game with West Bromwich Albion.

He is on the bench alongside Seb Larsson.

Influential midfielder Danny Drinkwater remains suspended for Leicester and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is out with a broken hand.

Sunderland are bottom heading into the game, three points from safety while Leicester are 14th after struggling to reach the heights of last season.
