Sunderland winger Jeremain Lens is targeting a first team recall after a frustrating spell on the sidelines after a hernia operation.
The Dutchman completed 90 minutes in last week’s friendly against Middlesbrough, his third game since returning from injury after run outs in the friendly win against Livingston and the recent Under-21 match against Boro.
And now he is targeting a recall to Sam Allardyce's first team squad.
"I’ve been training for two weeks now and I’m happy to be back,” said Lens.
"It’s a massive game and we need the three points so it’s up to us to start the final run-in with a win.
"We need to go back to back and we have the perfect chance to do that with two home games coming up, but we need to take it game by game and purely focus on Saturday’s game.
"“We were unlucky against West Brom earlier in the season and we have really improved in the last couple of months, so we have a good chance of winning this game and we’re confident.
"The fans have been great home and away; they support us regardless of the result but we need to give them something to cheer about and get them off their season.
"I’m looking forward to the atmosphere and hopefully I can help the team win the game," the £8million summer signing told the club's website.
