SUNDERLAND are the latest Premier League club to be linked to Burnley striker Danny Ings.

The England Under-21 international is out-of-contract at the end of the season and a host of top flight suitors have been keeping tabs on his situation with a view to a cut-price January move.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has confirmed the Magpies are watching Ings, while Sunderland are also reportedly tracking the 22-year-old, who has netted four goals in his last eight games.

However, Burnley are still hopeful that Ings will agree a new contract at Turf Moor and are still unlikely to let the frontman leave next month, unless they receive a huge offer.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche said earlier this month: “I can say at this moment he’s a Burnley player, he wants to be a Burnley player and that’s quite obvious from his goals.

“Who knows what the future will bring? He’s enjoying what he’s doing and we’re enjoying having him here.”

Should Ings opt to see out his Burnley deal, the Clarets would still be owed compensation next summer due to his age.
