Sunderland and Newcastle United have had plenty of battles on the pitch over the years, but now it appears they could be set for one off the pitch, too.

One former Newcastle player has been consistently linked with a move back to St James’s Park since leaving the Magpies, but now Sunderland are reportedly interested in him.
