Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow will make their Newcastle United debuts tonight – a year after signing for the club.

Defender Lascelles and goalkeeper Darlow are in the squad for the club’s pre-season opener against Gateshead at the International Stadium (8pm kick-off).

The pair joined from Nottingham Forest last summer, but were immediately loaned back to the Championship club.

Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren has pledged to take a strong squad to Gateshead, and captain Fabricio Coloccini, Daryl Janmaat, Moussa Sissoko, Remy Cabella, Siem de Jong and Papiss Demba Cisse are all expected to feature.

McClaren is likely to play a different starting XI in each half to give all his players valuble pre-season minutes.

The match is no longer all-ticket, and United fans can gain entry to the South Stand and East Stand.

Admission is £15 for adults, £10 for over-60s, £8 for students and 16 and 17-year-olds and £3 for under-16s if accompanied by an adult.
