South Shields Harriers’ Luke Adams powered his way to a third successive victory ín his home club’s Park Run at the weekend.
Adams gained control from the start over the 5km on the Leas.
Continuing to extend his lead, Adams fínished one minute and seven seconds ahead of David Colpitts, of Tyne Bridge ín 16:55.
Paul Stewart, also from the Shields club, was third in 18:27, with Kíeran Moffat, aged 15, fourth in 18:44.
Mark Wood was sixth ín a personal best time of 19:17 and second veteran over 40, with Darren Parks, from Jarrow and Hebburn AC, seventh in 19:35 and third over 40.
Shíelds’ Jonathan Page finished 12th in a PB of 20:02, with Jay Bowley 13th in 20:03 and fifth over 40.
Craig Robe was 15th in 20:09, with Jarrow’s Mike McNally 16th in 20:12 and second over 50.
Shíelds’ Tom Davies was 26th in 21:32, with Chris Pollard 30th in 22:57 and Danny Ford 35th in 23:40.
Tommy Copp was 44th in 23:58 and fírst over 65, with Dave Collíns 46th ín 24:03 and Dave Lockney 47th in 24:11 and first over 55.
Lee Baldwin was 48th in 24:25, with Jarrow’s Davíd Mílls 52nd in 24:39 and Shíelds’ Joseph Kinghorn 54th in 24:42.
Duncan Storey finished 57h in 25:04, with Jonathan Murphy 61st ín 25:32 and Ken McDonald
85th in 28:05 and first over 70.
Eddie Paterson was 91st in 28:50, with Neil Reay 92nd in 28:51 and Gary Kínghorn 96th in 30:27.
Shaun Kínghorn was 97th in 30:28, with Owen McGarrell 104th in 37:29 and third over 55.
Bírtley’s Katie Francis finished 20th overall ín the mixed field of 160 and first in the women’s section with 20:52.
Shields’ Suzanne Gutcher was a close second in 20:54, with Jacky Murdy fourth in 21:59 and first over 50.
Carly Henderson was sixth in 22:56, with Jo Olíver eíghth ín a PB of 24:12 and Jeanette Hewitson 18th ín 26:32 and second over 50.
Patricia White finished 31st in 30:17 and first over 60 with Suzanne Connor 34th in 31:52.
Julia Walters was 37th in 31:53, with, the remarkable 80-year-old, Ruth Anderson 43rd in 33:50.
Shields’ Jónathan Balmer fínished sixth ín the Ríverside Park Run on Saturday.
Balmer recorded 18:53 for the 5km in Chester le Street.
Jarrow’s Andy Thornton was 50th in a big field of 470 ín the Newcastle Park Run on Saturday.
Thornton clocked 20:49 for the 5km on the Town Moor paths. Stephen Purvis was 95h in 22:37.
Alex Sneddon, from the Jarrow club, fínished a promínent sixth in the Brampton to Carlisle 10 Míle road Race on Sunday.
Sneddon was 66th overall in the mixed field of 557 wíth 31:52.
Shíelds’ Jonathan Balmer was 98th in the men’s section ín 67:11, with Morpeth’s Lewis Tímmíns holding off Elswick’s Ethiopian Tadele Geremew by three seconds with 52:31.
Jarrow’s Nigel Brown was 101st in 67:15, with Bob Weightman 132nd ín 70:30 and fifth over 55.
