The Newcastle United midfielder scored 11 goals for his club last season – and all came on home turf.

Wijnaldum scored the winner past Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny for Holland in Gdansk.

He struck with his left foot with 14 minutes left on the clock at the Stadion Energa.

Holland – who failed to qualify for Euro 2016 – conclude their post-season programme with a friendly against Austria tomorrow.

Wijnaldum joined Newcastle last summer after captaining PSV Eindhoven to the Dutch league title.

And the 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Newcastle in the wake of the club's relegation from the Premier League.
