The Hornets have launched a community ticket programme in association with primary and secondary schools in the town and local charity ‘Hebburn Helps’.

The Northern League Division One club already offer 500 free season tickets to players in their junior ranks – however, a further 200 season tickets will be donated to local schools ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

The ‘Hebburn Helps’ charity will also benefit after the club confirmed that they will donate a mixture of child and concession season tickets to allow the charity to share with the families/individuals that use their service on a regular basis.

Hebburn have also offered an opportunity for existing supporters to donate additional season tickets to their new community programme.

The club’s director of football Stephen Rutherford said: “Our football club is at the heart of the community.

“We do some fantastic work with the junior club members and their families and have great relationships with our local schools, and we now feel it’s time to go wider into the community and do what we can within our limits.

“2020 has been a really tough year for lots of people within the community, socially, financially, mental health-wise.”

“We hope working with the primary and secondary schools - as well as our great local charity Hebburn Helps - within the town we can help both children and adults to get back onto the road to recovery by coming along to The Energy Check Sports Ground to watch some football and enjoy the fun and atmosphere the local community create.”

Further details of the scheme will be announced once the start dates for the 2020-21 season are confirmed.

The Hornets have requested that any supporter wishing to donate an additional season ticket to the scheme should email [email protected] with the subject line ‘Community Ticket Programme’.
