It’s a double header for Whiteleas and Harton CC this weekend as they welcome Philadelphia to town tomorrow, and then make the short journey to Bill Quay on Sunday.
Andrew Potts’ side currently sit second bottom of the Readers Durham Cricket League Division One table, and the skipper is urging his players to use this weekend as a turning point in their bid for survival.
Potts said, “We haven’t performed well the last two games and double headers are always tough.
“However, we need to use the opportunity to get some points on the board as if you string together some positive results, it moves you up the table.
“We just need to show a bit belief in ourselves.”
Potts returns tomorrow having missed last Saturday’s defeat at Tudhoe, and is joined by batsmen Nathan Ullah and Grant Parkin.
“Unfortunately, opening batsman Alan Beadle is unavailable for both games.
Philadelphia are unchanged for their weekend of games, with Shaun Smith still out injured.
The Second XI are hoping to bounce back from a heavy defeat as they travel to Philadelphia tomorrow and then entertain Bill Quay on Sunday.
The First XI are also in action tonight when they travel to Hylton in the Hedworth Williamson trophy.
